Wisconsin will be making its first attempt to introduce Insurance Fairness for Amputees Legislation during the 2019 Legislative Session. Representative Robert Brooks (R-60) has agreed to champion Insurance Fairness. Currently, draft language for Insurance Fairness has been completed and awaits a formal introduction. We are actively seeking advocates to assist the efforts to pass Insurance Fairness in 2019.
The Wisconsin State Legislature works on a two year cycle and in 2019 will be in the first year of their cycle. The 2019 Legislative Session convenes January 7th and will tentatively conclude December 31st. The Wisconsin Legislature does not have any deadlines for prefiling or introductions.
Currently, the Republican Party controls both chambers of the State Legislature and the Democratic Party controls the Office of the Governor.
