Michigan Amputee Fact Sheet

State Outlook

The Amputee Coalition will be continuing efforts to introduce and pass Insurance Fairness for Amputees in 2019. Representative Beau LaFave (R-108) has agreed to once again champion Insurance Fairness. He will be using the similar language that was introduced during the 2018 Legislative Session. We are actively seeking advocates to support efforts to pass the legislation.

Legislative Activity

Prior to the 2019 possible introduction, the Michigan State Legislature previously introduced Insurance Fairness for Amputees. The 2018 effort to pass HB6085 was unsuccessful with it dying in its respective committee. HB6085 was referred to the House Insurance Committee.
