Ohio has not previously introduced for Insurance Fairness for Amputees Legislation, but it is a target for the 2019 Legislative Session. We are actively seeking advocates to support introduction and passage of the legislation.
The Ohio State Legislature works on a two year cycle and in 2019 will be in the first year of their cycle. The 2019 Legislative Session convenes January 7th and will tentatively conclude December 31st. The Ohio Legislature does not have any deadlines for prefiling or introductions.
Currently, the Republican Party controls both chambers of the State Legislature and the Office of the Governor.
In order to move Insurance Fairness for Amputees legislation through the legislative process, the Amputee Coalition needs the support of the limb loss community. We are actively seeking advocates and champions for Insurance Fairness for Amputees legislation. Connect with the Amputee Coalition or your insurance company through Amplify, your State Representation and the Ohio Department of Insurance to express your concern and desire for the legislation.
