Idaho has previously introduced Insurance Fairness for Amputees Legislation and it is a target state for an upcoming session. We are actively seeking advocates to lead the efforts to introduce and pass legislation.
Insurance Fairness History
The Idaho State Legislature has previously introduced Insurance Fairness for Amputees. The most recent introduction took place during the 2010 Legislative Session, which saw legislation introduced in the Senate. The Senate Commerce and Human Resources Committee introduced Senate Bill 1334 and was referred to the committee, but it did not receive any consideration after introduction.
The Idaho State Legislature works on two year cycle and in 2019 will be in the first year of their cycle. The 2019 Legislative Session convenes January 7th and will tentatively conclude early April. The Idaho Legislature has set introduction deadlines for the 2019 Legislative Session. The House has set an introduction deadline for the 20th legislative day. The Senate’s is the 12th legislative day.
Currently, the Republican Party controls both chambers of the State Legislature and the Office of the Governor.
