AMPUTEE COALITION VIRTUAL SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS

Amputee support groups provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals living with limb loss or limb difference as well as their family members. Whether meetings are held in-person or virtually, they are an invaluable place to connect with others who have overcome similar challenges and setbacks. Participation in support groups provides members the opportunity to express their feelings, share and learn helpful information, improve social skills, feel connected, and realize we are not alone.

The Amputee Coalition Peer Support Team and Support Group Leaders from our National Support Group Network are continuing to offer monthly virtual support group meetings via Zoom to keep our community engaged, supported, and connected. These meetings are open to individuals living with limb loss or limb difference and family members who are caring for loved ones along their journey. We hope you will be able to join us for an evening virtual support group meeting in your time zone, or whenever your schedule allows.

Caregiver Support Group

Care Partners and Caregivers matter all year long, regardless of what age and stage your loved one is in. It is important to remember that when someone experiences an amputation, it doesn’t only affect the individual. It can also create new or changing dynamics and needs for family and friends who may shift into a new or changing role.

For people who are non-professional caregivers of someone who has experienced limb loss or limb difference (i.e., spouses, partners, family, friends, and loved ones) we are inviting you to join our virtual Caregiver Support Group Meetings that are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6pm Central via Zoom.

NOTE: Registration is required in advance of attending one of these recurring virtual meetings. All four recurring virtual support group meetings will follow a similar agenda, so please register for the time zone that best suits your life and availability. If you have any questions, please email supportgroups@amputee-coalition.org or call 888-267-5669 ext. 8124.

For professional caregivers (i.e., doctors, nurses, PTs, OTs, social workers, mental health professionals, etc.) looking to find additional ways and resources that will benefit patients who experience limb loss and limb difference and their support networks, please email us at partners@amputee-coalition.org.

You are not alone. We are here. We will get through this together.
