Burke’s rehabilitation team employs a multidisciplinary approach when treating patients with limb loss. Our therapists work closely with prosthetists, social workers, medical staff, nurses, recreation therapists, and neuropsychologists to provide patients with high quality care while working toward the goal of maximizing independence. We offer extensive education and resources, including Certified Peer Visitor meetings and hosting monthly support groups. Our Recreational Therapy Department offers a wide variety of adaptive sports opportunities in the community that patients can continue to participate in even after their inpatient stay. Our ten-location network of outpatient therapy sites throughout the Bronx and Westchester County is available to provide ongoing therapeutic services as needed.
