National Diabetes Month (aka American Diabetes Month) is observed every November so individuals, health care professionals, organizations, and communities across the country can bring attention to diabetes and its impact on millions of Americans. Approximately 86,000 people in the United States undergo limb loss related to diabetes annually, the majority of which are lower-extremity amputations.
