Why I volunteer for the AC I am a firm believer that practitioners have a duty to give back to their profession(s) and the patients that they serve. Being a SciMAC Member of the Amputee Coalition has provided an additional avenue for me to serve as both a provider and an advocate for the limb loss and limb difference community. The collaboration between provider group members and persons with limb loss, strengthens relationships beyond just the usual interactions. This creates opportunities to move forward collectively in providing better care, achieving greater understandings, and forging alliances to ensure that coverages for needed services will be both available and comprehensive.
