Each April, the limb loss and limb difference community recognizes Limb Loss Awareness Month.  At the Amputee Coalition, we take this opportunity to educate elected officials and the general public about the issues affecting the limb loss and limb difference community.

This year, we are hoping to work with all 50 state governors to have them support our community by issuing a proclamation or resolution commemorating Limb Loss Awareness Month in their state.

To do that, we need your help!

In the coming weeks, we will make available a letter you can customize and email to your governor’s office.  We’ll even include sample language they can use to write the proclamation.  We’ll provide important statistics that educate them about our community, and we’ll encourage you to include your short personal story in the letter.

So, stay tuned!  We look forward to working with you on many activities around April’s Limb Loss Awareness Month, and hope you can help us achieve our goal of reaching out to all 50 state governors!
