Amputee Coalition is coming for two exciting Limb Loss Education Days (LLEDs)! One arrives in Columbus, Ohio on September 19, 2015, and another in Portland, Oregon on October 24, 2015. What is an LLED? It’s a jam-packed day filled with three to four educational sessions, a healthy lunch and fun, adaptive recreation activities. LLEDs are also a great way to meet other local amputees and explore local organizations and companies on exhibit.

In Columbus, Ohio we have partnered with Amps4Ohio, the Amputee Recreational Support Group of Ohio, Columbus Paralympic Sports Club, and Columbus Parks and Recreation to bring you a full LLED program. This LLED is sponsored by Ace Prosthetics and features experts speaking on home modification, amputee rehabilitation, prosthetic technology and the amputee/prosthetist relationship. Lunch will be provided by Giant Eagle and sponsored by MC Mobility Systems. There will also be several adaptive recreation activities such as yoga, fly fishing, recumbent biking, archery and a thrilling climbing wall. All of these fantastic activities and sessions will be taking place in the beautiful Franklin Park, a site you’ll love to explore. To register or to find out more information, visit the LLED Columbus, Ohio Web page.

In Portland, Oregon, we are thrilled to have the LLED located at Reed College, where we are working with Oregon Disability Sports and Kate Dessommes of Portland Yoga to bring a phenomenal afternoon of adaptive recreation. Shriners Hospitals for Children is helping us get the word out about this compelling and enriching program. For more information, visit the LLED Portland, Oregon Web page.

Amputee Coalition looks forward to meeting you at our LLEDs!
