September | October 2019 22 By Tony Phillips LIMBS FOR LIFE FOUNDATION: SERVING AMPUTEES WORLDWIDE In Oklahoma City, a team of dedicated staff and volunteers at Limbs for Life Foundation works year-round to offer a financial bridge between amputees and the quality prosthetic care they need to lead mobile, active lives. Limbs for Life is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive prosthetic care for individuals who cannot otherwise afford it and to raising awareness of the challenges facing amputees. The organization works with prosthetic clinics and skilled clinicians nationwide who donate their time, labor and energy to help those in need. Limbs for Life also accepts gently used prosthetics and prosthetic components from individuals who no longer need them. Donated items are distributed to amputees around the world to provide them with prostheses to which they would otherwise have no access.
