Living Free 13 ACCESS TO CARE AND YOU WANT TO LIVE LIVING THE LIFE By Dan Ignaszewski & Jeremy Haines allow you to get in front of your members of Congress. Events such as the Amputee Coalition’s Hill Day, held every April, allow you to meet with your members of Congress, but you can also meet with legislators in your district, which presents opportunities for the member and their staffs to meet you and make a connection and build a better understanding of what access to care means for you and the broader community. The Amputee Coalition continues to make strides with elected officials, policy makers, and other decision makers who can impact the access to care you deserve to live the life you want. The Coalition hopes you will consider joining our advocacy efforts by lending your voice and paying attention to opportunities to engage with legislators in our calls to action and working with the Coalition to elevate your stories in conjunction with the issues that impact the community. If you’re interested in elevating your advocacy efforts with the Amputee Coalition even further, you can sign up today to become an advocate at AmplifyYourself.org. Presenting a unified message to elected officials will help ensure everyone involved in the limb loss/difference community and beyond will receive proper access to care.
