How soon after surgery? What is my durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, grab bars, shower chairs) and assistive technology plan? How do you plan to get me these essential tools before discharge? 12. If I cannot go home after discharge, will you send me to an acute inpatient rehabilitation program? 13. When will you start my movement training after amputation? 14. How will you maximize my independence? Will my rehabilitation include mobility, strength, activities of daily living, gait training and cardiovascular fitness? 15. Will you offer me a microprocessor knee over a non- microprocessor knee? (This will likely be insurance-dependent.) 16. What outcome measures do you use? Do you use the timed up and go or six-minute walk tests or the Comprehensive High-Level Activity Mobility Predictor? 17. What additional outcome measures do you plan to use to allow me to track multiple aspects of my recovery? Will you give me surveys? Can I do those at home or before my appointments? 18. How will you assess and track my health factors that may lead to poorer outcomes: smoking, other injuries or illnesses, social functioning, pain, etc.?
