His wife Kim is the lead of the Southeast Oakland County Amputee Support Group at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Trevor Bunch, NESTA PFT, NASM FNS, PN1, is a bilateral above-knee amputee, personal fitness/nutrition coach and athlete. He found passion in physical activity at a very young age and was taught to never take “no” for an answer when it came to physical pursuits. He’s since transformed that passion into helping mentor and coach amputees at all stages in their journey to maximize their mental and physical potential. He can be reached at trevor@fitbunch.net . Michael Carroll, MBA, CPO, FAAOP is an American Board-certified prosthetist- orthotist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He has traveled nationally and internationally, presenting at rehabilitation symposiums and providing clinical care to patients. During the London 2012 Paralympic Games, he provided prosthetic and orthotic care to Paralympic athletes from around the world. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists, an approved clinical mentor for the National Commission on Orthotic & Prosthetic Education, and previously served on the Amputee Coalition Youth Advisory Board. Harleen Chhabra Gupt is an artist, writer/ blogger, a communications and marketing advisor for a Fortune 5 company, and a mother. Drawing from her almost lifelong above-elbow amputee experiences, she is working on children’s books and parenting resources for the limb loss community. Carolyn Cosmos has written for inMotion since 2008. She writes medical and education feature stories for The Washington Diplomat and other outlets and has authored a guide to the Americans with Disabilities Act for hospitals and their patients with hearing loss. Tony Phillips is the owner and executive director of Kouros Phillips Development, Inc., a consulting firm based in San Diego offering grant writing support for nonprofit organizations and education districts in the U.S. and overseas. Tony is active in a variety of sports and a regular spokesperson for challenged athletes and the amputee community. Beverly Serafin, CMA, AAMA, aunt to Christopher Grubisa, resides in San Antonio, Texas. Anna Sutterer is a journalist in the Denver area. She loves exploring her city, meeting new people and learning about various communities by listening to their stories. Sharing stories through her writing is an exercise of finding connections between her subjects, herself and her readers. Nicole Ver Kuilen is an amputee, athlete and advocate for disability rights. She just completed a 1,500-mile triathlon down the West Coast to raise awareness and is founding a nonprofit advocacy organization – called Forrest Stump – to help raise the standard of care and expand access to prosthetic technology for all amputees.
