Harleen Chhabra Gupt is an artist, writer/ blogger, a communications and marketing advisor for a Fortune 5 company and a mother (harleengupt.com ). Drawing from her almost lifelong above-elbow amputee experiences, she is working on children’s books and parenting resources for the limb loss community. Carolyn Cosmos has written for inMotion since 2008. She writes medical and education feature stories for The Washington Diplomat and other outlets and has authored a guide to the Americans with Disabilities Act for hospitals and their patients with hearing loss. Bob Edmonston has been a below-knee amputee since 2012, following a serious motorcycle accident. He worked at The Boston Globe for 31 years as an operations manager. After leaving the publishing business, he took an IT role with a startup that was bought by Google. At Google, he worked in a number of roles as ops manager and customer account manager. Married for 41 years and the father of three great children and grandfather of one granddaughter, he is currently contemplating retirement and working in volunteer roles.. Lacey Henderson is a Paralympian and former Division 1 cheerleader at the University of Denver. She speaks Spanish and French and is an above-knee amputee from a soft tissue cancer. Karen Henry is a freelance writer, editor and content marketing specialist based in Broomfield, Colorado. She specializes in writing for the orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics professional communities and for the patients they serve. Jason T. Kahle, MSMS, CPO, FAAOP, is a certified licensed clinical prosthetist/orthotist and research scientist. He is an ongoing co-principal investigator of funded prosthetic and amputee clinical and translational research. He is a consultant with the University of South Florida, Prosthetic Design and Research and the Prosthetic and Amputee Rehabilitation and Research (PARR) Foundation. She is a freelance nurse, writer and part-time amputee care manager for Humana Insurance Company. She is also an amputee nurse consultant, providing education and emotional support to new amputees and their families. She lives in Lisbon, Maine. Leif Nelson, DPT, ATP, CSCS, is the assistant chief for clinical care in the Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence. He is a doctor of physical therapy, a certified assistive technology professional, and a certified strength and conditioning professional with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Tony Phillips is the owner and executive director of Kouros Phillips Development, Inc., a consulting firm based in San Diego offering grant writing support for nonprofit organizations and education districts in the U.S. and overseas. Tony is active in a variety of sports and a regular spokesperson for challenged athletes and the amputee community. John Register is an experiential keynote speaker, trainer, coach and Paralympic silver medalist. An above-knee amputee since 1994, he founded the United States Olympic Committee Paralympic Military Program. A publication of the Amputee Coalition inMotion magazine publishes unbiased journalism that seeks to “empower and motivate” living well and thriving with limb loss. The magazine targets amputees and their families and is provided free electronically to all friends of the Amputee Coalition and in hard copy to all subscribers. Each issue covers health, well-being, life issues and advocacy for amputees and their families.
