Do you want to make a difference for the limb loss community? Are you interested in coming to Washington, D.C. to talk with your elected officials about issues that affect people with limb loss?
On April 16/17, 2018, the Amputee Coalition will be holding Hill Day in Washington, D.C.
April 16: Training and Networking starting at Noon
April 17: Visit your legislators
Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks
11787 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy
Fairfax, VA 22033
People with limb loss or limb difference
Friends, family, clinicians and supporters of all kinds
Educate and influencer our legislators as they make healthcare decisions
We encourage everyone to attend so we can share a unified voice on issues affecting the limb loss community. We need you to let us know if you can attend so that we can schedule meetings with your elected officials and talk to them about some key issues including:
- Insurance Fairness for Amputees and improving access to prosthetic and custom orthotic care
- Funding for research and programs that improve the lives of amputees
- Changes to the Local Coverage Determination Process to ensure we don’t see another Medicare LCD like we witnessed in 2015.
Hill Days includes gathering the afternoon of the 16th to prepare for our visits by reviewing materials, policy points, and how the visits typically go. On the 17th, meetings will occur throughout the day as we are able to schedule them with the congressional offices.
Hill Day registration and hotel reservations are closed to make sure we have time to schedule meetings for our attendees.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re still interested in joining us. Please scroll down for our agenda and FAQs.
