Duke University Hospital takes a multidisciplinary team approach to amputee care. Patient care teams include providers from many specialties. These include orthopedic, vascular and plastic surgery; podiatry; internal medicine; wound care; physical and occupational therapy and physical medicine and rehabilitation. We are pleased to partner with the Amputee Coalition to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care to patients with limb differences.

Our hospital offers osseointegration, targeted muscle reinnervation and regenerative peripheral nerve interface procedures. Patients benefit from our partnership with the Duke Rehabilitation Institute, a local acute rehabilitation center, as well as from our affiliation with the Amputee Coalition for peer visitation and support groups.
