Amputees need a higher level of coverage in obtaining their prosthetic needs because the cost of prosthetic devices has inflated so much that without more coverage, amputees are not able to purchase a new device.

These devices can wear out in as little as one year depending on the activity level of the amputee. The extended amount of coverage would help them maintain their ability to contribute to society. They want to be productive citizens but without better coverage they are hindered in obtaining a new device when an older one wears out.
