Website Accessibility Standards

The Amputee Coalition staff is committed to following universal access design principles in the presentation of this web site to ensure that all Internet users can get to information regardless of their disability or the limitations of their equipment and software. Special software has been applied with the help of AudioEye.  The AudioEye platform converts existing Internet content assets and navigation menus into an audio format for those who are vision impaired.

The following principles have been followed in the site design:

  • Maintaining a simple, consistent page layout throughout the site, with linear content available on applicable pages to facilitate access by users of screen reader programs.
  • Keeping backgrounds simple with good contrast.
  • Using standard programming languages (HTML/PHP)
  • Keeping download time to a minimum consistent with effective content delivery and providing “alt” tags for graphics wherever possible.

If you have questions or comments regarding the accessibility of this site please contact the Site Administrator at siteadmin@amputee-coalition.org.
