Peer Training Schedule

Please check back often as new seminars are continuously added. This schedule will be updated as locations and dates for training are confirmed. ACA conducts Regional Peer Training Seminars

All amputee support group members interested in working with the ACA to provide information to new amputees are invited. Materials and refreshments are included. For more information, call the ACA office, 1-(888)-AMP-KNOW.

Topics covered include:

  • Effective communication, listening skills and sensitivity training
  • Better understanding the process of grief and loss
  • Techniques for interacting with both amputees and professionals
  • How your support group can effectively run a Peer Visitation Program
  • Materials and forms to aid peer counseling
  • Evaluating visit outcome
