How to borrow books and videos from the National Limb Loss Information Center using Interlibrary Loan
Search the National Limb Loss Information Center (NLLIC) catalog at www.amputee-coalition.org/nllic_library.html After identifying the materials you want to borrow, contact your local public, academic or hospital library and ask to speak to the reference librarian. Tell the librarian you want to order a specific item through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Be sure to provide the item’s title, author, publisher and year. Some items may be available at your local library or in its library system. You can tell the librarian that our Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) ID is “NLLIC.” If your library does not participate in OCLC, ask the reference librarian to fax your request to 865/525-7919 or email it to library@amputee-coalition.org The NLLIC does not charge for shipping ILL items, but please check with your library to see if it will charge you for return shipping. Not all items are available for ILL. Renewals of ILL items are negotiable. Limit 3 items at a time per patron. ILL is at the discretion of the NLLIC librarian. Receiving an ILL in the mail can take several weeks, and then a normal check-out time ‑ usually 3 weeks ‑ is allowed. Patrons return items to the library where they picked them up. The patron accepts all responsibility for damaged or lost goods.
