Otto Bock HealthCare Commits $15,000 to Aid in National Parity Efforts
The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is thrilled to announce that Otto Bock HealthCare recently contributed $15,000 to the ACA's advocacy efforts. Corporate contributions provide essential resources that allow the ACA to advocate effectively on behalf of the nearly 2 million people in the United States with limb loss.
“Throughout our 90 years in prosthetics, our mission has been to offer people with limb loss as much independence and mobility as possible,” says Brad Ruhl, Otto Bock HealthCare's vice president of marketing and sales. “By giving to the ACA, we support a group with similar values and direction, and we congratulate the ACA and all its members on their accomplishments.”
Otto Bock HealthCare, a leading supplier of prosthetic devices, has a long history of sponsoring ACA programs and services. The company has been a major sponsor of the ACA National Conference for many years, providing funding for educational sessions and social events. Additionally, Otto Bock HealthCare is a longtime key contributor to the Amputee Coalition Youth Camp through its employee giving program and corporate matching funds program.
“On behalf of our board, staff and membership, I would like to thank Otto Bock Healthcare for their ongoing support of our legislative work both in the halls of Congress and out in the states,” says Kendra Calhoun, ACA's president and CEO. “Otto Bock's contribution will help us shape polices that impact the lives of people with limb loss every day ‑ issues like access to healthcare and civil rights protections.”
With Otto Bock HealthCare's generous support, we will be able to strengthen the ACA's legislative programs and services, including providing day-to-day technical assistance in the states working to ensure adequate insurance coverage for prosthetic devices and continuing our work to advance federal parity legislation. Through this campaign, the Amputee Coalition is striving to ensure that every amputee has access to appropriate prosthetic products that can provide them a higher quality of life.
