October 8 marked the début of the Amputee Coalition of America’s (ACA’s) Pebble Party program in support of its amputee youth camp. The inaugural Pebble Party, hosted by Marshall Cohen at the Harvard Club in New York City, not only raised more than $40,000 for this worthy program, but provided the platform for the announcement that the youth camp has been renamed in honor of Patricia “Paddy” Rossbach, the former ACA president & CEO.

VOTE for Jordan Thomas:

In 2005, a boating accident cost 15-year-old Jordan Thomas his legs.

So what did he do?

He started a foundation to help kids less fortunate than him.

Help him help them. Vote for Jordan Thomas in CNN's "Hero of the Year" competition.

To date, the Jordan Thomas Foundation has raised more than $400,000 through the sale of bracelets, charity golf tournaments and cookouts to pay for prosthetics for children unable to afford them otherwise. With the added media exposure and prestige of being CNN's Hero of the Year, just think how many more children Jordan could help.

And as CNN's Hero of the Year, Jordan would help the ACA raise awareness about the need for prosthetic insurance parity for amputees across the United States.

To help Jordan, all you have to do is click the link and cast your vote, then tell all your friends and family to vote, too. Tell them they can vote as often as they like through November 19.

It's a small gesture that could make a huge difference in a child's life – and maybe your own.

Won't you help Jordan Thomas help more children with limb loss? Please, vote today.
