Please understand that the Amputee Coalition cannot and does not make specific recommendations for products or services, but can only suggest possible sources, with no endorsement implied. Amputee Coalition therefore does not maintain a list of physical therapists experienced with amputation. The following Internet search engines can help you find physical therapists and physiatrists near you. You can then contact these professionals to ask about their experience and specialties. Amputee Coalition Member Corporate, Facility and Hospital DirectoryThe first resource we suggest is the Amputee Coalition Member Corporate, Facility and Hospital Directory (http://www.amputee-coalition.org/members/members.asp), where you can search for facilities by state or within a certain distance of a ZIP code. Not all search results will be rehabilitation centers: Some will be orthotic & prosthetic facilities, hospitals, or prosthetics manufacturers, but all have demonstrated their commitment to the limb loss community by becoming members of the Amputee Coalition. American Physical Therapy Association1111 North Fairfax Street On this Web page, you can search for member physical therapists within 10 to 50 miles of a given ZIP code. Charles Street, Suite 201, On this Web page, you can select a state for a list of member physiatrists affiliated with medical schools in that state, then select names from the list for contact information.
