The Amputee Coalition is a nonprofit organization of volunteers, including individuals with limb loss, their families and the professionals who serve them.
The Amputee Coalition is dedicated to preventing limb loss and enhancing the quality of life of all individuals with limb loss and their families. It does so by encouraging effective identification of those at risk for limb loss, providing information on preventing and living with limb loss, fostering research and protecting the rights of people affected by limb loss. The Coalition seeks to accomplish these goals through awareness, advocacy, empowerment, education, service and collaborative efforts. The Amputee Coalition launched an ambitious legislative agenda in 2009 in order to meet these goals.
