The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) has joined forces with the UpperEx National Outreach Coalition (UNOC) to expand the education and support sessions at the ACA Annual Conference!

 

Topics will focus on:

  • Finding an upper-extremity specialist
  • The role of an occupational therapist in upper-extremity rehabilitation
  • Resources for living with upper-extremity amputation
  • Coping and adjustment Preventing secondary conditions
  • Adaptive sports opportunities
  • Technology solutions for upper-extremity amputees

These interactive sessions will be facilitated by panels of experts in the field of upperextremity rehabilitation and individuals who will share their experiences and solutions. Attendees may also participate in general programs for amputees offered throughout the 4-day event. These include pain management, body image and intimacy and peer support, as well as a host of fun social events!

The ACA is proud to partner with the UNOC to provide this new upper-extremity track and has extended the discounted conference registration rates to June 5 to accommodate those waiting on tax or stimulus rebates.
