Each day 507 people lose a limb, largely due to vascular-related diseases, and 60 percent are preventable, according to the Knoxville-based Amputee Coalition. To raise awareness on limb loss prevention, the national nonprofit organization will be holding Limb Loss Awareness Day April 12 on Market Square in Knoxville, Tennessee, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
