Background: Right now, many amputees are being denied access to an artificial limb. They pay their premiums into private insurance companies, but then those same companies refuse to cover the cost of the prosthesis they need to be active and independent. This is just plain wrong!
That is why the ACA launched the National Week of Action (Saturday, April 26-May 2). This event series has really increased the momentum behind the federal Prosthetic Parity Act (HR 5615).
The week of action is over, but that does not mean that our work is done!
