The ACA’s first annual week of action (April 26th-May 2nd) was very successful.  ACA activists and supporters held over 98 events in 89 different cities in 35 states!  Click here to read the ACA's press release.

Background:  Right now, many amputees are being denied access to an artificial limb.  They pay their premiums into private insurance companies, but then those same companies refuse to cover the cost of the prosthesis they need to be active and independent.  This is just plain wrong!

That is why the ACA launched the National Week of Action (Saturday, April 26-May 2).  This event series has really increased the momentum behind the federal Prosthetic Parity Act (HR 5615).

The week of action is over, but that does not mean that our work is done!

1) Sign our online petition and send the link (www.amputee-coalition.org/advocacy/petition/) to your friends & family

2) Visit our “Action Alerts” page to learn about our current priorities and find out how you can get involved.

3) Contact your member of Congress today and ask them to signed on in support of the federal parity act (HR 5615).  Click here to take action.

The amazing success of the week of action was proof that there is a strong, national movement behind the federal parity bill.  Help us keep up the momentum!

Thank you to the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC), Otto Bock, the Board for Orthotist/Prosthetist Certification (BOC) and Hanger Orthopedic for their support of this important initiative.

A group from PA met with Rep. Holden (D-PA).                A TX group organized a fishing tournament.
