State Prosthetic Parity Campaign: Unfortunately SB 2272 died in the House after passing the Senate in the 2009 session. But we've laid a great foundation for 2010 and will work hard during the off session to build support for 2010!

Bill History:

The North Dakota Senate passed SB 2272 on February 17, 2009 by a vote of 46-0! The bill will now move on to the House!

North Dakota is considering SB 2272 which would create a consistent standard of coverage for prosthetic care. That means that insurance companies would not be allowed to put arbitrary caps of $1,000 or $5,000 or tell amputees that they will not cover repairs. This is an important bill to make sure that amputees get the care they need! Senate Bill 2272 will help to make this a reality!

Other Advocacy Issues: While parity is a big priority for the ACA’s advocacy team, we have recently been involved in a number of issues advocating on behalf of people with limb loss and limb difference.
