Swim Across the Sound
More than 160 swimmers, both solo swimmers and relay teams, will take on the challenge of the 15-mile marathon swim across Long Island Sound on August 13, 2006 to benefit Across the Sound, the St. Vincent’s Medical Center cancer charity in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

More than 160 swimmers, both solo swimmers and relay teams, will take on the challenge of the 15-mile marathon swim across Long Island Sound on August 13, 2006 to benefit Across the Sound, the St. Vincent’s Medical Center cancer charity in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

                                                               

Swimmers ranging in age from 13 to 64 will swim from Port Jefferson, Long Island to Captain’s Cove in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

 

Many of the swimmers do this event not only for themselves but also for the memories of friends, relatives or loved ones dealing with cancer.
