Dear Senator,

I am urging you to support SF 2367, a bill requiring health care benefits for prosthetic devices.

Right now many people with limb loss are being told that their insurance company restricts them to one prosthesis per lifetime or to $2,500 or less in prosthetic care. That is why your support is so important.  These changes in insurance plans are having a devastating effect on amputees and their families.

Unable to afford prostheses, people with limb loss are at risk for dangerous and costly secondary conditions.  The provision of prostheses helps to reduce pain, decrease dependence on caretakers, and cut down the chance of diabetic-related infection leading to limb amputation. This results in a savings in overall medical costs.

Please, support SF 2367 and protect coverage for prosthetics in order to ensure that people with limb loss are given the opportunity to lead a full and productive life.

Sincerely,

 Your Name and Address
