Dear ACA Volunteer:

There are two bills in the New Jersey Legislature, Assembly Bill 2774 (A-2774) and Senate Bill 2752 (S-2752), which would revise the insurance law to require insurance carriers in the state to pay for Orthotic and prosthetic equipment using the same standards as Medicare.

These bills, if passed, would end the battle with insurance companies for coverage of braces, artificial limbs, etc.  But they won’t pass without your help!

Please call, e-mail or write to your Representatives, the bill sponsors, and committee members to get this legislation passed. Get your family, friends, doctors, O&P professionals, therapists and their patients to do the same. 

Assembly Bill 2774 (A-2774)

Assembly Bill 2774 requires health benefits coverage for orthotic and prosthetic appliances and provides reimbursement at the same level as Medicare.  Introduced 5/10/2004, and referred to the Assembly Financial and Insurance Committee.
