Due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina, thousands of people have been forced to leave New Orleans and other affected areas. In an effort to help amputees that have been affected, Fourroux Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) is reaching out to those amputees whose prostheses may have been damaged, lost or destroyed in the storm.

Fourroux O&P is a family-owned company founded in 1955 by George Fourroux Sr., a native of Louisiana. Fourroux will provide the means necessary to bring these amputees to their state-of-the-art facility in Huntsville, Alabama, and provide them with a functional prosthesis.

Keith Watson of Fourroux O&P says, “We will provide transportation to Huntsville by charter bus in groups or make individual runs. We will work with the local Red Cross to provide amputees with housing and also peer support by certified peer counselors over the phone if needed.”
