Tonight you will air CSI: Crime Scene Investigation with a full storyline about coroner Dr. Robbins portrayed by actor, disability rights advocate and long time member of the Amputee Coalition of America, Robert David Hall. The Amputee Coalition of America applauds CBS for its positive, accurate and candid portrayal of an amputee living a vibrant and active life in a challenging career role.

CBS has taken the lead in hiring of actors with disabilities in TV programming, going back to the 1980s. We thank you for choosing the path less traveled and engaging Robert David Hall who is an outstanding actor and role model for many amputees who work every day to decrease the stigma of living with a disability.

Each year in America, an estimated 185,000 people lose a limb and this is a growing number making people with limb loss/difference more common in our population. Increased positive portrayals of people with disabilities, translates to shattering myths and stereotypes, increased employment and empowerment for people living with disabilities.

We commend CBS for taking a leadership role in the employment of people with disabilities and hope your example will influence other networks to the same.
