Looking for information about rehabilitation for senior amputees?  Or maybe you want to find articles on health and fitness for amputees?  How about information on finding assistance resources in your community? Amputees and healthcare professionals alike have grown to enjoy and rely upon the news and stories featured in the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) bimonthly magazine, inMotion. To provide easier access to the most popular inMotion articles, the ACA is pleased to publish the 2005 Index of inMotion Articles.

inMotion is packed with useful advice for new and seasoned amputees, inspirational stories and the latest technology for adaptive living.  The most current inMotion index is now available on the ACA Web site (http://www.amputee-coalition.org/inmotion_indexes.html) and is also printed in the January/February 2006 issue of inMotion. Indexes for previous years are also available online and in every January/February issue.

Indexed topics include: adjustment to loss, adaptive devices, advocacy, caregivers, children’s information, congenital limb deficiencies, diabetes, employment, emotional issues, fitness, health, inspirational stories (categorized by age and amputation levels), insurance, orthotics, pain management, prostheses, rehabilitation, seniors, support groups, surgical procedures, upper and lower extremities, and vocational rehabilitation.

Many articles are available in their entirety and can be accessed directly from the online index.  All other literature can be obtained from the ACA’s library of inMotion magazines.  If you would like an article that is not available online, please contact the National Limb Loss Information Center at 888/AMP-KNOW (267-5669).

Founded in 1986, the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee. The ACA’s mission is to reach out to people with limb loss and to empower them through education, support and advocacy.  The ACA is partially supported by cooperative agreement No. E11/CCE419270 from the National Center on Birth Defects and Disabilities, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The contents of this message are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the CDC, the sponsoring organizations or the ACA.
